This fine SB(rs)bc-spial-galaxy NGC5248 can be observed in the constellation of Bootes.Sized 6,2′ × 4,5′ by an apparent magnitude of about 10mag.it is an easy telescope object and could even be detected with large binoculars.
It´s an active barred spiral-galaxy at a distance of 50mio.light-years.
NGC5248 was first seen by William Herschel in 1784.
