Clip of our first Day at CTIO

On the evening of November 6th, 2012 Phillip Keller and Konstantin Buchhold made their way to Chile. Two days later they arrived at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) near la Serena in Chile. There they met Joshua Haislip and Justin Moore, both from the Astronomy Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This clip tells the story of the first day on the mountain. The telescope made its way from Germany via sea container in March 2012 and was stored in a warehouse at CTIO.  Fortunately all the pieces were found quickly and we got off to a good late start at 3pm. Due to the extraordinary effort of all the people involved, five hours later, the telescope was resting safely on its mount inside the dome. About 5000 pictures were used to make the clip.

The clip has 83 MBytes and depending on your connection, it might take a long time to load.
