NGC 6559 Nebula in Sagittarius

The NGC 6559 nebula is a complex star forming area showing blue reflections of diffuse dust illuminated from hot young stars, red emission nebula from ionized Hydrogen and dark filaments and blobs consisting of dust and molecules.
The area is situated in the central milkyway at a distance of approx. 5000 light-years.

In close vicinity of this area the Lagoon Nebula is situated.
