NGC3190+3187 Galaxies in Leo = Hickson44/Arp316 group

The Leo-Galaxies you can find here (NGC3190,NGC3185,NGC3187,NGC3193) are forming the Hickson44-Galaxy-Group and without the second one the Arp316 group.

The apparent size of NGC3190 is 4,4′ × 1,5′ and the real distance of this group is about 50-7mio.light-years.Traces of strong interacting with other galaxies can best be detected at NGC3190 with its prominent dust-lanes.

The S-shape of NGC3187 is also caused by interacting events and contains a lot of star-formation-areas.

NGC3190 and NGC3193 were fist seen by William Herschel in 1784.

the brightest galaxy in this 22´x 22´ arcmin.field is the disturbed NGC3190 with the S-shaped galaxy NGC3187 quite to its left.

The ellitical one to their right is NGC3193 and NGC3185 is the galaxy at the left top.North is up.
